FAVOURITE SUPPLIES

Updated: Oct 28

As an art therapist and a mixed media artist, I often get asked what my favourite supplies are. In the studio, clients are provided with an array of supplies to explore a wide range of sensory experiences. Each material offers different visual and textural qualities, which can influence the ways we express ourselves. Depending on what we are going through, we might need the softness of fabric, the transformation of clay, the control of drawing, the connection to nature of a feather, the unpredictable nature of watercolour, the slow process of stitching or the permanence of collaging. The great thing about being creative, is that you can change what you are into as you move through life. Creating in this way allows your art to reflect your inner world, instead of placing you in a box as a certain type of artist.

Lately, I've been gravitating towards:

  1. clay

  2. collage

  3. drawing

As some of you may know, I am head over heels for my pottery and creative journaling practice. Naturally, I am offering therapeutic arts workshops with those two modalities this Fall! Make sure to click the links below to find out more!
